A
windy and freezing morning. Another planet's sight, with the
subdued color of dawn, from white ash, gray-pinkish brittle
crust, yellow dirt layers and a pale coral horizon of soft
rock under a grayish-blue sky. I was most happy to have my
prototype Markins titanium rocket spikes, personally installed
by Mr. Mah on my Gitzo tripod the night before, ideal for
this terrain where walking down the slopes turned treacherous. |
