The
day before we had waited for over an hour in the hope to see
some sunlight shining at Hallet Peak; and we were almost denied
of it again. This morning was as bitter cold and windy as
then, and the sun once again was shy. But the clouds began
to gather on top of the Tyndall Gorge glacial trough and stayed
there. Facing Bear Lake, at my right, Bernie and Marilyn,
each in their positions, were doing what looked like an Arapaho
war dance to get warm, and overheard her saying: "..
wouldn't it be nice if those clouds turned pink as the sun
comes up?" Magically, the clouds complied. Without been
fully aware of it, I had been ready for at least an hour. |
